Mozilla Thunderbird makes "beep" noise when I get new mail - even if volume is muted.

I can mute the sound in windows, but thunderbird still beeps when I get new mail. How do I make it not beep unless the sound is turned on?

I think there is an option in thunderbird to turn off the noises...

I want the noise, just not when the volume is muted. I want the volume of the noise to correspond to the volume settings in windows.

Select a custom wav file and try that instead of the beep.
