If I restore/maximize Mozilla from its minimized/background state it takes almost 5 seconds to display. This is on XP but on NT 4 it is instantaneous. Why is this happening when both machines have the same amount of RAM and the NT 4 machine has a much slower cpu? Other applications on the XP machine however are fine.

It's instantaneous here. No problems at all. I'm running XP Pro.

Well I am running on 1.3a and it seems to be ok. Have you uninstalled and and reinstalled it yet? If not I would try that.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled on both machines and the situation is the same.

I have discovered one thing though. It is only when I click on the application in the task bar that mozilla takes a long time to display. This is even when mozilla is already the foreground application but as another window. However, using alt-tab gives an immediate response!

Any ideas anyone?

Found it! The cause is the "NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager" which I had enabled sometime back. Disabling it has removed the delay when clicking on the minimized mozilla applications.
