mozilla question

I didnt know where else to ask this.

I want to set up mozilla mail such that I can see my emails whether I am in windows or linux. Any ideas?

I can think of two ways.

1. IMAP instead of POP3. This would be the easiest, but not all e-mail servers support IMAP. Also, you would start to run into space quotas with this (typically 5-10 megs). When you are out of space, you have to delete things before you can get new e-mails.

2. Setup a file server/share. Have the two OS's point to the same file storage area. This would most likely inolve the use of Samba or some other network sharing tech.

is there a way my linux mozilla points to the mails in windows version of mozilla... I did that with the bookmarks... I created a symbolic link to the bookmark file in mozilla for windows and now I can access same bookmarks in either OS. I am guessing there would be a similar way for mails as well. I havent tried yet. Thought maybe someone would know and save my time.

Mods: Sorry for posting this in OT. Didn't realize this forum.

not sure if this will work, but ...
open your mozilla mail
go to account setting (on whichever mail account you already set up)
there is a section called "local directory" under the server setting (or directly under local account).

you may be able to point it to different directory (in this case, the windows directory)
not sure if it will work, but ... worth trying, i guess
