Mozilla & Netscape 7 users I need help!!!

Well I've tried Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1.2a and no matter what I check I cannot receive e-mail notification like I did in NS Communicator (any version)

I have it set to check for e-mail every 1 minute and download messages automatically. Well it won't notify me at all now unless I open the e-mail client. Does anyone else have this problem. It even did this before I did a fresh install this past weekend. I can use NS communicator and it works just fine.

Now before we get into the IE Netscape battle, I like NS and want to use their e-mail client so this is why I ask this.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I just switched to NS mail so I didn't know it would poll the email without the client being open. I have just been using POP Peeper to check for messages. That way I can delete spam before I ever download it.

I've had the little "user has X new messages" popup whenever I get new mail in my inbox (mail filtered to other folders on my IMAP server automatically don't trigger it) ever since 0.99 and it's always 'just worked'.

My NS 7 mail notification is sporadic. Works well sometimes. Other times not.

On the newsgroup alt.netscape, there is a thread titled "Mail notifyer doesn't notify!" with a begining date of August 31st and end date of 02 Sept. Talks about the problem and mentions a workaround by using nsnotify.exe from another version of NS.
