Mozilla freezes system on Athlon 64

Hello,

I have been using Mozilla on Fedora Core 2 for quite some time without any problem at all. However, I have just upgraded my system to an Athlon 64 processor and now I have a very strange problem: Whenever I try to start Mozilla the system completely freezes and the RESET button is the only way out. Everything else seems to be working. Does anybody know what can be the cause of this problem?

System specs
=========

Before Upgrade
------------------
CPU: Pentium III 500 MHz
MB: Intel SE440BX2
RAM: 160 MB
Video: S3 Trio3D/2X (8 MB RAM)
HDD: 60 GB Maxtor PATA
OS: Fedora Core 2

After Upgrade
----------------
CPU: Athlon 64 2800+
MB: ASUS K8V-X
RAM: 512 MB
Video: SiS 315E (32 MB RAM)
HDD: 60 GB Maxtor PATA
OS: Fedora Core 2 (32-bit)

Any similar problems with other applications?

Quick and dirty solution is to use a different browser, but I'm not familiar with your OS or it's compatibility.

Other applications seem to be working for now. But I haven't really used that many different applications in the past few days and there might be other problems as well. I'll be trying to do some more testing and I'll see if any other application shows problems. To me it seems that the problem is specific to Athlon 64 as the same installation previously worked fine with two different Pentium III based systems

I'm no linux expert by any means but wouldn't you want to do a fresh install with a new system build with that much of a difference in specs? What brand/model power supply are you using?

Linux generally does not need a reinstall with hardware changes like these. Anyway I will also try a fresh install today and see if that works.

The power supply that I am using is a generic 350W supply (with a stated 16A on the +12V rail)
