Oh, this version hauls eh?

Optimized code would probably run at most 15-20% faster. I think you are imagining stuff if you think it loads pages 100% faster. And if by chance it does, they must have taken a lot of the boat out and most the increase in speed is not from 3DNow/SSE optimization.

I can't see a significant difference in page rendering speed.

Seems faster to me. I had my old firefox running, and also fired this one up as well right along side it. Opened up a few tabs and pages in the old one, then same with the new one... new one was clearly faster. I then saved a tab session, closed both browsers, opened up the new one, and loaded the tab session. Closed the browser, opened up the old version, loaded the tab session. The new one had the pages for me faster than the old one. I just eyeballed it, so I have no numbers, but it was definitely faster.

only the top link worked.. the one with duron and xp support. other has a corrupt zip? eh...

trying it out now. dunno if its faster right now, basic surfing was always fast. gotta get a ton of tabs built up and stuff🙂

Sorry, at what point did I say 100% faster?

All I said was that "page rendering is quite a lot faster". Now, to me & my eyeballs, rendering of long cached pages (such as long threads) seems a fair bit quicker.

It wasn't you, in the first post it says that he/she read other people have been claiming that kind of speed increase.

Many people have been reporting it flies on AMD processors compared to the regular build. ...2x page loading speeds?
