Mozilla Firefox cannot use ftp site?

I want to access a ftp://xxxxxxxx.com website to upload my files to it.

I was able to do that using IE (it pops up to ask me to login) but now with Firefox 1.0 I cannot. It gives me a "530 Login incorrect." error.

Is there anything I can do about it?

Without the extension, FF is just a web browser. IE is not just a web browser, it's also a file browser (because it's integrated into Windows Explorer), hence it's ability to access FTP sites.

Hardly. FF handles FTP just fine without the extension. It's not a full-blown client like something like ncftp, but it has the basics out of the box, that extension takes it the rest of the way.
