Mozilla FireFox 0.9.1 Out Today - FREE

0.9.1 was actually released 2 days ago.

and anyone who says IE is better should be shot. ;p

//krunk (^_^x)

What changes were made over 0.9? I tried to find the release docs, but couldn't find anything for 0.9.1.

We don't have to shoot everyone who thinks that IE is better. Just put them all on the same network and block it from getting to anyone else. 😀

Don't blame the dude for plugging IE, it was yet another hack in their IE browser that automatically sent that reply

I saw a changelog somewhere.... Basically its just bug fixes and a theme update. It DOES seem more stable than 0.9 to me (had a few issues with it).

Small footprint, built-in pop-up blocker, tabbed browsing... Really, once you start using it, nothing else compares.

0.9.1 is pretty nice. I upgraded from 0.8 to 0.9.1 when it came out two or three days ago and I've played around with it quite a bit. Some extensions (i.e. Single Window 1.0) do not work, but it's a nice upgrade (from 0.8) overall.

Single Window 1.0 is the best. I'll stick with 9.0 thanks. 🙂

Can anyone tell me how firefox is better or more secure that IE ?
With this week's reports (LINK)of new IE vulnerabilities that allow infected websites to glean financial password info and for which Microsoft has no fix in sight, it is being widely recommended that computer users switch browsers.
I have been very happy with IE functionality till now, but finally installed Firefox last night.

Looking for info on how to manage the "Bookmarks" to my liking.

I upgraded from 0.9 to 0.9.1 and Single Window still works.

The new theme looks like ass, at least in my opinion. Do they have the original for download(work firewall blocking the site for some odd reason)?

there are versions of the oriinal theme (Qute) available that work with 0.9.x.

There is also an extension to enable support for "old" extensions that aren't 0.9x compluiant.

If you dont like the default theme, try Firefox Modern. It looks pretty good.

Also, another change in 0.91 is the profile directory. They changed its location.

I think it's pretty silly that my desktop can't get Single Window to work, but my laptop and work machine can (using the same installer for the laptop and desktop at home). Oh well, I'll give it a shot since .9 was a pain to install (it wouldn't start up at all).

Can I run FireFox and still have IE installed on my computer ?

I tried Opera's latest and while it's getting better and better, it's still missing features like "auto-complete" and many others I'm used to using IE.

Yes you can. It is impossible to uninstall Internet Explorer since it is so heavily integrated into Windows.

I thought with XP's SP1, you could now uninstall IE completely.

Man last night I had a spyware attack my PC. Crap it scared the hell out of me. Took 2 hrs still not out. I have to devote another couple of hours before I have sound sleeps. I am in for FIrefox then

only thing that gets on my nerves about firefox (not like it stops me from using it) is that if you open a new tab or window (ctrl-t or ctrl-n) you lose the address you were at. it keeps the address blank, probably to save you the load time. I wish it would keep the same address, because sometimes i like being able to open a new window, and go back to the previous page.
