Basically is it possible to "copy/image" your C drive (where your OS is installed), restoring that image to a new partition on the existing hard disk (or a new hard disk) and boot off that drive without the need for reinstallations?
At the moment, Im using one physical hard drive with 4 partitions in it. Now since i have the budget and running out of space, Im deciding to get some more hard drives. The plan is to have these 4 partitions transferred to 4 separate hard disks.
So is this possible without re installing the OS? Theres just to many programs and what not installed so im trying to avoid going that path (although its the most reliable) if there is a faster alternative in what im trying to achieve.
Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can decide on what to do during my break. If its too much of a hassle, ill just wait til my next upgrade cycle (during fall, or early next year) and go with Win7/SSD what not.
Im using Vista 64bit ultimate and hopefully this is the right sub forum.
note - I have access to acronis disk director suite 10.
