Moving WinXP from one motherboard to another

I am moving from a VIA based Asus A8v Deluxe motherboard to an NForce 4 SLI based motherboard. I assume that if I want to not reinstall windows that I should uninstall the Via drivers and the Via Raid driver before I switch the motherboards but is there anything else I have to do?

Edit:

I am also using RAID0 on my Asus motherboard and want to move the RAID array over to the eVGA board. Will the RAID array stay without any problems or are my disks going to be confused and have to be wiped?

You will most likely (99.99999%) get a BSOD. When ever you change chipsets, you are changing the HAL (hardware astraction layer) windows configured itself around. Windows cannot reconfigure itself and will crash. You are better off taking a backup of your data and doing a clean install.

How about if I did a Windows repair?

More like install the nvidia drivers on your current system the LAST time before you shut the system down to do the swap. That might get you by without issue.

Swapping nV to nV or Via to Via always works fine for me, but swapping chipsets can get hairy.

Nonetheless it's still possible.
