Question Moving Windows

Can someone drop me a link, I'm somehow using the wrong search words ...

I'm replacing a 1tb HDD with a 1tb SSD in a Windows 10 home OEM laptop. I want to do a straight transfer of the old hard drive to the new.

Can I just put them into a drive copier or will windows freak out?

I can attach the new drive via USB before removing the old so I have some versatility on method.

Use cloning software. There are free cloning utilities out there such as macrium reflect and others. Sometimes your SSD will even come with it's own cloning utility. I am not sure if the EaseUS clone is free or will work, it says there is a demo download though on that page. Not sure if the demo will work for you though.

If all I have to do is clone it then it won't be an issue. I will partition the new drive then drop them both into a cloning dock.

I wasn't sure if windows would freak out because of the new hard drive.

EaseUS Disk Copy is disk cloning software.

EaseUS Disk Copy free version works when I used it several years back.

Disk copy will copy boot sector and all partitions on the disk, partition copy software like EaseUS Partition Master will not.
