Moving trucks and weigh stations

Well I'm at my new home now. I'm waiting for my phone to charge so I can call my cable company, then I'm off to NY. When I get up there, my roommate *should* have internet access, so if anything interesting happens on the trip (God forbid), I can post the gory details.

I will say this, though: Alabama drivers are the best of the states I went through and New Jersey drivers are the worst. Tennessee had the best roads and Alabama had the worst.

It took me so long to get out of Virginia that I thought I was going to scream.

Thanks, but I think I'm going to go straight through again. Late fees and all.

Winchester is my first real waypoint on the way down. It's the point at which I felt that I was leaving the north. I think that VA is like 6 or 7 hours of the trip. It's too long!

I'm flying back from Albany. I towed my car down here, so I'm just bringing back an empty truck with an empty trailer.

never even thought of this.

helped a friend move from ny to pa. rented the middle size Uhaul(?) truck. noone told us about stopping at the weigh stations. noone came after us.

for yous that got a ticket, what were u cited for?

Well, I did two moves with 16' trucks. No problem skipping the weigh stations. I looked at the front profile of the van next to a semi and it was a feeble comparison. Didn't look like it could exceed any weight limits if it tried.

Just stop at the weigh stations. Unless you're really heavy they will just wave you on through, especially since you're a rental.

It's much easier to stop than risk getting a ticket.
