I will need a new checking account since Wells Fargo is non existent over there.
Any recommendations?

So far I'm looking at Bank of America (MyAccess Checking®), partly becausae they also have offices here in Tucson.

edit: It has to be free.

Do you want a local bank or do you want an internet bank? You seem to want local branches, any specific reason?

I already have ING Orange for savings and I like to have an office to go to when I cash checks and make deposits. I'm old like that, don't like to use ATMs for deposits. I also need direct deposit of my salary.

If possible I am looking for an account with free online payments of bills. I'm getting tired of wastring 37 cents for each bill.

Join my bank, Wachovia, now offering free atm/check cards even if you don't want them.

With direct deposit, ,bank of america upgrades their free checking account to the next level. Free access to real humans, etc.

BofA is really great. I love how I can view checks that I wrote online. Suntrust is the devil. Bunch of scheming thieves. Chevy Chase isn't too bad, but not that great. I currently have accounts with BofA, Chevy, and Wells Fargo.
