My best friend did...

And how are they?

My friend hooked up with her when she was over here from Germany on a foreign exchange student program. After she went back home, my friend realized that the long distance thing wouldn't work, so he went over there to try to keep things going. They ended up getting married over there, and they are now back living in the States. They have a kid now, and they are doing well from what I can see.

I moved to England for a guy and got married. After 8yrs marriage (10yr relationship) things went bad, we divorced and we are really close friends to this day.

Nope. The only reason my wife and I would leave the country would be if I got stationed overseas somewhere that she could live.

Its funny that you asked because my gf is thinking of fullfilling her life and closer to family in Malaysia. I just bought a house and good job, I'm willing to move there if I have to.

I've done it. I'm living in Norway so I can be with my girlfriend. Even if the relationship went wrong i'd still be happy to have had this chance to experience another culture. Point of fact, norwegian christmas food sucks.

A girlfriend? Fvck no. I'm very happy here and I'm not about to leave. Being that there are plenty of great girls where I live now, I could easily find a new girlfriend.

i think this somewhat boils down to the seriousness of the relationship.

obviously if you're married, it would be a much tougher decision to make.

Most likely not.

My employment choices have funneled me into a position that is only really done here in the US and will only become more restrictive with time.

I have visited other countries and will continue to do so, but I like to live here.
