Moving threads vs Deleting/locking them?

Silly question, is it possible to MOVE a thread to a different forum with a note saying who moved it and why versus just locking a thread?

I just ran across this when I posted a thread in OT about my cell phone because I glossed over the "Phone" part of the "Gadget Gear and Phones" title.

It is possible. But you have been a member here since 10/14/1999. If you can't figure out where to post a thread, there is no hope for these forums.

You're absolutely right. Because we've always had a Forum Issues category. I honestly looked at the forums list and didn't see the "Phone" forum when I looked.

But again, I haven't claimed to be perfect or anywhere close to such a title. :p The fact that I accidentally and unintentionally posted in the wrong forum isn't why I posted my question/suggestion here. ;)

For the record, posts are normally moved when in the wrong forum. If a poster who has been here say since 1999 or so posts in the wrong forum, it may be assumed he was doing it intentionally and it will just be locked.
