I am so happy. I am moving back to Birmingham from Atlanta. I finally get to get out of my apartment and back into a house. I move in the 15th. I had my digital camera but forgot the batteries. The pics I have are on the website of the neigborhood.

Very nice. I love how many of the houses down in 'Bama are all brick, since bricks and clay are so cheap there.

I mean, damn...every time it rained while I lived there, our front yard would start oozing red clay...coulda built a new house right there.

That's not bad! Congratulations! :) I hope I can swing something like that with a friend once I move out after graduation next year.

1250. I got them to go down from 1450(starting price).
Ouch....that's more than my mortgage. I hated throwing money away on rent. You should seriously look into purchasing a home if you can afford that much in rent every month.

Unfortunately I don't qualify for a mortage, unless I had someone cosign. I have good credit, but since I am a student I don't have a full time job nor has my employment been consistant due to the move to Atlanta and now back to Birmingham. A mortage would have been nice but this is only a year lease and my cousin is going to be living with me and we will split everything down the middle. I was paying 1059 for a two bedroom apartment in Atlanta so this is really a step-up for me at only a little more a month. Bills will be cheaper in Birmingham and I have two places that I can get immediate employment at. I haven't worked here in Atlanta for over a month. My boss says that they don't need me right now. :(

Until I start school back full time in January I need a good job. My family lives in Birmingham so that is a plus too. I agree that renting is flushing money down a proverbial toilet, but I don't think this house will be much more a month than all my rent and bills in Atlanta. It may actually be less. Also, my cousin is five years older than me and way more dependable than any of my past roomates at my apartment. He just graduated from UAB about a year ago with a degree in Criminal Justice. He is working for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a corporate internal security supervisor.

I am hoping to finish school in 3 years if I can take CLEP tests and pass them. I am really excited. Not only that but Skoorb lives in the same general area as me. Who could ask for more? :)
