Return of the Jedi sequel would be great, with Christopher Nolan directing

Good god no.

He'd make it have like 15 different endings and drag the movies on for far too long. Plus he'd make the main character have a horribly raspy voice.

People keep posting movies that either have already had sequels made or movies that already have sequels in the works...

Rendezvous With Rama 2.

Of course, the lazy fuckers would still have to make Rendezvous With Rama 1 first...

This one is NOT a good substitute:

One of my favorite books from childhood, I should give it another read now that I'm quite a bit older. Loved it. I got really excited when I first heard about the movie, I still can't believe they haven't made it - would make great Sci-Fi. Although, now that I think about it .. I'm not sure how well it would translate to the big screen, or more importantly (?) how well audiences (mainstream) would receive it. No clear villains, no answers, etc.

There was one. It sucked.

District 9 (I know there's supposed to be one...)

I know the ending lent itself very very well to a sequel, but honestly, I think it should remain a single film. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

By far, one of my favorite A.C. Clarke novels. I liked the original MUCH more than the ones that followed.

Yeah, it was very different (and much, much better) than the ones by Gentry Lee with A. C. Clarke just editing.

I'd like to see American Pie have a sequel. I don't think anyone's made one yet :sneaky:

Have people posting Spaceballs and Trains, Planes, and Automobiles not heard that John Candy is dead? :(

District 9 here too.

But other than that I hate sequels with a passion. Even for District 9 I hope they only make a sequel not sequels.

Fight Club

I have always wondered what happened to The Unnamed Narrator/Jack (Joe in the novel) after Project Mayhem (assuming Project Mayhem's end goal was the destruction of the buildings at the end of the movie). Does he get away? Locked up in prison? Mental asylum? Is he really 'cured'? I find it hard to think of a clever premise for a sequel but I imagine Palahnuik/Fincher would have some great ideas.
