Movies you thought you would like, but ended up hating

Adaptation - I thought this movie was going to be great. And it just dragged and didn't make any sense. Needless to say, it sucked large ballz.

Sin City - EVER HEARD OF ACT I, II, III?!?!? Or a PLOT?!

Memento - need I explain

Napolean Dynamite - "Am I suppose to laugh here?"

Spiderman 2 - Gawd can we get on with the fighting. What's all this emotional crap.

[Ben Still Move Here] - He needs to disappear for a while

Moulin Rouge - No nekked girls? Next.

Requiem for a Dream - OK how does this qualify as a movie.

Van Helsing... In retrospect I really don't know why I even thought it was going to be good.

Yeah....I was like WTF is lion king doing at the end?

Edit: All the recent influx of the super martial arts asian movies e.g Hero, Flying Daggers...etc have sucked in my opinion

Sin City rocked the house in. Perhaps the plot was lost on you, but not I.

Memento - heard nothing but great things. "You gotta see it." Finally did, I wasn't impressed.

No I got the plot, I just found many parts of the movie annoying and/or cheesy. Besides the A+ cinematography, the movie was just a bunch of cheese imo

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow -- they missed the mark in casting (except Angelina Jolie) and the script, failing to create a believable alternate history world.

Van Helsing kept failing to rise above League of X-Gent awfulness despite flashes of promise. I wasn't even expecting much, just the fun of the two Mummy movies.

I found Hellboy to be slightly disappointing. And I also agree on Van Helsing.

Hulk on the other hand, was completely disappointing.

I'm not sure that was the point. It was designed to look like an old serial. It met that goal in my opinion, but I do agree on the casting. Gwyneth Paltrow? she sucked.

Napoleon Dynomite, and its not just me, I goto film school and just about everyother film major didn't like it either.

Troy
King Arther
Sahara
Star Wars episode 1
Hulk (the second ending, it was fine if they woulda just cut it off)

*spoiler*

I don't think that movie was so bad. But my wife hated the ending - she just looked at me, and said "Is that it? I wasted two hours of my life!" 😀 She suggested that at the end, since diffusing the onboard doomsday device meant no going back, they should have stayed and made their way to the new planet and become the new Adam and Eve. Instead she ejects the animals even though there is no way they could be reintroduced into the animal kingdom (since they've been shrunk), and they get off via an escape pod (why would there be escape pods on an unmanned rocket meant for a one way trip?)

Spiderman 2. Reviews all said it was better than the first, but I thought it was utterly stupid.

I thought Spiderman 2 was great. 😕 The only thing that bugged me was the way the tentacles were introduced - you don't hear or see anything about them until the unveiling - I really think the Dr. and Peter should have discussed it prior. And then the whole thing about the chip to prevent them from taking over his brain - I think that was stupid because if they really had an AI advanced enough for that to happen, then why not just build the tentacles permanently into the machine?
