personally, i actually enjoyed the ending to I Am Legand.

For, the first one that comes to mind is 'Hitch'. Everything except the last half-hour was pretty great stupid fun. the end was just horrid. Have Kevin James get together with his "love", but Will Smith leaves town.

OMG SPOILZ! :Q

oh please, its a romantic comedy. What's the generic ending with all romantic comedies? The main characters end up together. Every movie just does it in a different manor. If you really didn't see that coming, then you really don't watch movies that closely.

I think thats why the ending sucked so bad for me. Smith's character is a loner, not meant to find someone (at least to me). It cheapened everything else in the movie for me.

he got together with Eva Mendezs character at the end, dont you remember that?

Minority Report. Loved the movie till the "good times" ending.

EDIT: How to fix? Leave the addled minded drug user in prision/frozen. End movie.

I hated the ending of 'The Firm.' Whoever wrote that screenplay really botched the ending. The book was infinitely better and more believable.

I enjoyed Signs up until the end.

That goes for most Sci-Fi movies. If the aliens win it's bad, if the aliens lose they look weak and it's bad. It's tough to have them present the proper degree of menace while still letting the humans win in the end. Movies like War of the Worlds and Signs that have the big bad aliens taken down by something so simple are an insult.

The major problem with the ending of Signs is the partly the same problem I had with the ending of I Am Legend. The "there's a meaning for everything" crap is annoying to me. There were more problems than that with I Am Legend but that part in particular annoyed me because it was like they just threw it in their randomly for the religious crowd.

I didn't care for the ending of Mystic River. *Slight Spoiler* I was pissed that there were no consequences whatsoever for Sean Penn's character's actions.

Blow was basicially a true story, how else were they gonna end it?

Again.. some movies I just didn't like the way it ended. We know Jung was going to jail at the end, they didn't need to drag it on with the the whole "he broke a promise to his daughter" thing and his hallucination of her visiting him.

"Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited Away."

how would you have had mononoke end? IMO its fine, havent watched spirited away yet, im lazy

both of those felt like the endings came out of left field. pacing along really well for the first 2 acts, then Blamo!: a bunch of random shit, the end. I'll have to go back and watch them, maybe--it's been several years.

it seemed to me that the animators' arms started hurting, and they just didn't want to draw anymore, so they shortened the story. There was a lot of build up throughout, and you get the impression that there's quite a bit that still needs to happen before it ends.

I didn't see Blow, but where is the rule that says true stories get accurate endings when put on film? it's certainly not common practice to remain faithful to true events. if the story works better with a change, then by all means change it.

The one that immediately jumps to mind is Children of Men.

*SPOILERS*

After he died, the movie should have just faded out leaving the fate of the girl and her child unknown.
The movie wasn't perfect before that, but the ending really, really ruined anything it had going.

Contact....Jodie Foster.

Second that. It went from reality to some 2001 goofy LSD induced trippy thing.

For that matter, 2001 had a pretty poor ending too.

Blade Runner Directors Cut

I didn't think it needed cutting.

That's the only version I've watched. I thought it was slow as hell. I didn't realize the theatrical cut had narration over what I thought were slow scenes. I also had problems with understanding the reasons for some of the things in the movie which was apparently explained better in the other cut. I'm going to have to rent the theatrical cut of the movie so I can actually appreciate it.

With a lot of these I just didn't like the way it ended, not so much the ending in particular..

Babel, The Beach, Arlington Road, Blow, The Devils Advocate, Eyes Wide Shut, Memento, Narc, Panic Room, Ronin, and Zodiac.

Now.. GREAT endings include: The Usual Suspects, V for Vendetta, My Fellow Americans (watch it and you'll understand), Heat, The Chronicles of Riddick, and 12 Angry Men.

you didn't like the ending of arlington road? wow imo that movie has one of the best endings i've ever seen.

i agree with the contact and signs comments. the movies turned into a completely different idea once the ending came.

ive read online discussions that everything that happens after john is halo'd is a dream in his mind. but others argue that isnt speilberg's style and that explains the good times ending.

Gideon: And just think, they'd all be out there killing people if it wasn't for you. Look at how peaceful they all are. But on the inside...
[taps his head]
Gideon: busy busy busy.

IMO, The Myst ending was pure shock value and didn't further the story in the least.

EDIT: Also, the movie itself wasn't great. I can easily say I left the theater thinking "I paid $19.00 to see that?"

Yeah, my friend who read the story it was based on said that the story just ended with them driving off, and you were left wondering.
I thought the movie was alright, and I feel ripped off any time I go to the theater 😛

I liked the ending to No Country For Old Men.
I haven't watched the latest remake of I am Legend, but I did like the endings of Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man.

That said, I'm going to agree with Contact. The build up in the movie was great, but the last 20 or so minutes pretty much made the movie completely worthless IMO.

It was an interesting twist at the end for sure, but the whole movie felt convoluted at that point. Like the "real" bombers knew he was going to do exactly what happened in exactly the right way with very little interference on their part, it just seemed too far-fetched to me. I liked the movie in general though, very sinister.

That WAS NOT the ending... your friend is BSing you. The ending was much worse.

Million Dollar Baby: What an effing depressing movie. It was great right up until she gets paralyzed. Before the doctor said that she wouldn't recover, I was expecting a classic comeback: that's what the ending should be.
