Movies to DVD

Grandkids have a RCA mini-cam that they want to burn the recording(s) to DVD.

Recommendations on how they should go about this so they can watch the movies using the home DVD player?

copy files to a PC via firewire(if it has firewire), then burn the files to dvd. If it doesn't have firewire, then a capture card will need to be used.

They have a barbones NEC DVD burner from the Egg without S/W

They'd need burning s/w to put in on a DVD. What model is the camcorder?

1) check the RCA camera for connections. For the LOVE OF GOD hope that it has one called firewire.

I won't go into the details until know whether or or you have firewire....


IEEE1394: a.k.a "firewire" It involves only one calbe that send all the audio and video to a comptuer that support that conenction.

Once you two finish scheming...

The camera has fire-wire.

Files have been able to be downloaded to the computer and played on the computer.

They need a reliable package to that will burn the DVDs (possibly so they can be played through a DVD player).

Quality recommendation w/ ease of use; Fancy addons are not needed.

Information overload, but everything you wanted (and probably didn't want) to know about DVDs and everything else about this stuff...
