The sad thing is, they'll re-issue the book with a movie poster cover, then people will buy the book, read it, and proclaim, "WTF is this sh!t? I don't understand it! The movie was lots better, the guy they hired to write the novelized version sucks!"

you are probably right, this makes me sad inside :(

I don't read, so it looks good to me. Especially with Bridget Moynihan (sp?) in the movie.

Hollywood isnt going to make this movie for the thousands of people who read the book. They make these movies for the millions who will go and see it for the sake of seeing a good action, sci-fi movie.

The Robot Series and the Foundation Series would be excellent movies. Those books are as good as science fiction gets. Isaac Asimov really had his stuff together.

Yes I liked how he tied both the series together too.

But he had some really weird books.

Well, I have the three books that follow I, Robot (Caves of Steel, etc.). Should I read I, Robot before reading those?

I can think of nothing about this movie that looks good. Horrible theme, horrible name, horrible CGI worthy of ILM... I don't plan on seeing this.

Yes, I, Robot should be read first. Go here and search for "4.5" to get the complete chronological listing.

Thanks, I bookmarked that FAQ for future reference. :) I thought I had all of the Robot books except I, Robot, turns out there is also Robots and Empire (I think that was the title). I was buying up the sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks from a store that was closing them out, and was lucky enough to get the other Robot books among the mass of stuff I picked up.

I was with the preview until about a third of the way through. Even then it still looked like it had promise...but after the last part, it looks horrible.

Oh hey. That guy from Boston Public got another acting job. I'm glad to see he's doing well, that guy.

I saw it when I went to see Dawn of the Dead tonight.

looks interesting. I'll see it... but then again, I go to the movies every weekend (sunday night ritual... sunday night = my night off, but all my friends who have 9-5 jobs are ready for bed by 9 pm, so I hit up the movie theater for a 10 pm+ show). so I'll go see anything that looks remotely interesting, assuming they're not comedies... I hate 95% of comedic movies.
