Movie "The Thing"

Any good? Someone recommended it to me.
Its based on a short story "Who Goes There?" by John W. Campbell, Jr.

I still prefer the 1951 version though. But then I have a fondness for 50's sci-fi movies.

Have you ever seen "Robinson Crusoe on Mars"?

Actually, there was an episode of the X-files (early on) that was eerily similar to The Thing.

The Thing is a great movie - lots of "holy F that scared the crap out of me" moments.

Check out Prince of Darkness if you like John Carpenter movies. It's another "whoa" film.

Excellent movie! Gives you a sense of being trapped, a la Resident Evil. You'll know where those games get their tentacles from!

Yup, good old George Pal. Not a bad movie but borrowed some stuff from War of the Worlds (his first big film).

The original Thing may have also inspired Alien, Both the original and Carpenter's remake are good in my book (I too like 50s science fiction).

Ya it's very good. That movie gave me the creeps real bad-like first time I watched it.

You should watch The Swamp Thing instead. 😀

ROFL...OMG I remember that movie, I can still feel the awfulness of that movie. I remember the Movie Channel back in the 80's recycled that movie and On Gonden Pond about 8000 times each.

I recall seeing The Thing back when it was released on HBO in the 80's. Very scary for a young teenager.
