movie suggestions

There's no question you've seen it - but hey try the 'Don't be a menace to South Central while drinking your juice in the hood' - I swear it's the best movie I've ever seen.

I beg to differ.

Friday, Next Friday and Friday 3 (what's that called?), Road Trip, The New Guy, or Half Baked are all funnier.

great...didnt have that yet...any more ideas...doesnt matter what genre

Equilibrium was a real surprise -- a very good B-movie. Kind of like if John Woo decided to re-imagine Orwell's 1984. Excellent fight choreography, good acting, decent script.

Spirited Away is a nice bit of anime, more like a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale than an action fantasy movie.

Miller's Crossing is just out on DVD and is an intelligent and well-acted period gangster tale.

I have to seriously disagree, I think don't be a menace is better than all those, but you have to have seen all or at least some of the movies it is making fun of. South Central, boys in the hood, menace to society, juice, etc.

I'll throw out a few choices from different genres:

Action:

Face/Off
The Transporter
The Matrix

Comedy:

Office Space
All of Kevin Smith's movies (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, in order of which they should be viewed)
The Austin Powers movies

Drama:

Braveheart
Blow
American Beauty
Fight Club

Mystery/Thriller:

Memento
Chinatown
L.A. Confidential

Horror:

Evil Dead I & II
Blade & Blade II
Dead Alive

The Usual Suspects is a great Kevin Spacey movie as well. Also check out Goodfellas in addition to Casino for a great mob movie 😀
