There are lots of programs out there that can create a database of your movies using barcodes, manual input of title, etc. I am looking for a program that can add AVI files to the database and download information about these movies automatically. Also if it can interface with Media Center for Vista that would be a plus. Thank you for your input.

I must be missing something about mymovies then because i can only get it to recognize folders but not individual .avi files. I would rather not have to type every movie title into the database manually as i have almost 1000 movies and that would take awhile.

Is this on Vista? I use mymovies with my WHS installation and it automatically monitors my folders and places the info in the folder without me having to do anything, I'm not sure how it works on Vista.

Yeah it is vista. Are your movies in individual folders though mc866? because mine are all individual AVI's in one folder. And when i search/browse it does not show any AVI files just folders

Hmm, yea, I have each movie in a separate folder, and I'm not positive but I think that may be what you need to do in order for it to automatically generate the data.

OK, I will try it with a couple of them. Anyone know any programs/command prompts that would generate a folder for each file name? that would be nice. thanks for all the help so far and quick responses.

I'm not sure of a better way to do it but I wanted to mention if you do have to go back and create folders make sure to reference IMDB and try and be sure to use the naming convention they have for your folder and your avi file, otherwise I've had a few that were incorrectly identified and I'm having issues figuring out how to override the DVD art and info, it keeps going back to the incorrect info.

Ok sounds good...i guess. well looks like i have alot of work to do. Thanks for all the help. I am open to any other suggestions if any one else has any. thanks for all your help mc866
