movie "Driver"

After seeing some of you mention it among the best films of 2011 - I checked it out last night -all I can say is - WTF were you smoking?

Average at best.

The "driver" had about as much depth as ....anyone Keanu Reeves has every portrayed? Bella from Twilight has more depth than this guy.

He still wears his stupid "scorpion" jacket around town - covered in blood? Does the guy not have another coat?

Very much a let down...

i think you are talking about "Drive" not "Driver".

and yes, this movie was a bad movie IMO, I thought it sucked bad. wish i didn't watch it. awful acting to boot. only cool thing was the music in parts.

oh and there is already a dedicated thread about this movie, not sure why you had to start your own.

At first I thought "wtf is this shit?" After watching him rip faces off I liked it more and understood the deep meaning of the film.

Watched it two nights ago and loved it. It may been a little slow in spots, a little too forced with the silent staring, but overall I thought it was a great film. Seems to be quite polarizing, though.

I still need to watch this. Based on the fact that some of you think it's terrible, I'm sure it's actually quite fantastic.

You either love it or hate it.

I enjoyed it, but yeah it had about 20 minutes of unnecessary staring and smiling.

Awkward silences with creepy smiles. It wasn't terrible, it wasn't very good, either. For a movie about a wheel-man, it had very few driving sections, and the one it did have involved hiding in an alley half the time. The rest of it was just awkward silence punctuated by ultra-violence. Dude's got issues.

I had heard mixed reviews and finally sat down and watched it a few weeks ago. It was a pretty good movie, one of the best of 2011. It was a crappy year for movies, so that isn't saying as much as it would in other years, but it is still a good movie. I'm eager to see how re-watchable it is.

Amazing film. Can't wait for my Blu-ray to show-up! Oh and I'm pretty sure this is a repost.

Liked it, but have problems with movies that don't have endings.

Refn changed the ending to make it more ambiguous, which I am very happy with, but I understand some people do not like those types of endings. I wonder if the original ending is on the Blu-ray. :hmm:

Any idea what the original ending was?
perhaps ending with the dead looking gosling in the car?
