Movie: BattleShip get a B+ ?!?!

initially i LOL'ed at the trailer, but the new trailers make it look pretty damn good IMO.

i won't see it in the theatre but i'll definitely check it out when i can watch it at home.

There was another thread about it, apparently it has already been released in the rest of the civilized world weeks ago and the reviews from there are mixed. I wouldn't go to the theater with high hopes...

Based on the trailer it looks like it is pretty epic, of course trailers always have to be taken with a grain of salt, sometimes it's all the best few parts mashed together and the rest is boring.

I'll probably still watch it when it comes out on dvd though.

I watched it when I was oversees. Despite major plotholes and cliche's, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I was actually smiling after the movie, because I enjoyed it so much haha.

It was totally worth the $5 morning show ticket price and the hour and a half of my time. It's an average to slightly above average mindless summer action flick. If you like those, you'll like this.

I'm going tonight with my 11 year old. 7 dollar tickets through work!
Ouch!

I've been trying to decide all week if I want to go see it. I was hoping that on the two screens at the drive-in that they'd pair Avengers with Battleship. Unfortunately, Avengers is paired with Dark Shadows (saw both, loved Avengers, wouldn't bother seeing Dark Shadows again), and Battleship is paired with Three Stooges. Again, I saw Three Stooges and wouldn't want to go again. Both Avengers and Battleship are playing 2nd. Otherwise I'd back in and watch the first movie relaxing in the back of the van, and simply sit up front and watch the other movie from the driver's seat. Oh well.

No way was it a B+. More like a C-.

When comparing it to the likes of Battle L.A. (?) and similar films with weak acting, weak plot, silly excuse for some CGI aliens type movies, this is probably closer to a B than a C.

Saw the movie at a prescreening last week. I'm normally very critical of movies and rarely give anything more than a 6 out of 10. I gave Battleship an 8.5 out of 10. It was just a good ole fashion fight. About 80% of the movie is action. The special effects are very good and even though the story line about aliens is very weak, it still made a very good story. Most the audience applauded heavily when the movie ended.

With technology to traverse interstellar space, they're too stupid to avoid crashing into a satellite on the way here. DURF. I did like the spinny balls however
