Personally I don't see much to gain although it's always nice to liberate an oppressed people.

But that brings me back to my original question. Since inspections have clearly failed and he is in breach of them is it worth attacking Iraq based on that? Most members in the UN opposed to war even say they could see it happening as a last resort. Well that last resort is here. If you believe that war is a last resort to deal with Iraq then you agree with attacking Iraq now in my opinion because that last resort has been met. Nothing else works. If you don't believe it's worth attacking Iraq as a last resort well then that's a different opinion.

But trying to make it as if it hinges on failed inspections is silly.

Skoorb, you're turning more American each day.

we'll see what happens on saturday I guess, Saddam is really playing with fire here. I don't think Saddam is doing anything right now that calls for a war, from now on I'm sure there will be some watchful eyes on his moves, he will not be able to get away with the garbage he did back in the days of U.S. support.

Just got off the phone with Senator Cornyn's office. I called the first time and it was busy. The second time and the punk hung up on me as soon as I said what i'm calling about :D . I called a third time, and they didn't even answer 'senator's cornyn's office' some girl took my message and is said:

"i don't appreciate being hung up on by one of your interns, considering that i'm paying YOUR salary."

She said "sorry, sir, how can i help you?"

I said "I'd like to express my support for the current anti-war campaign"

she said "sure, what is it you would like to say"

I told her my bit, and she took down my name and county that i reside in, and message for senator cornyn. doubt he will get it but i hope it helps even a bit.
I didn't write down a bit you said.

If being American means being firmly grounded in reality, & a healthy dose of common sense...

He had those long before he moved here.

I only WISH that was true. The fact of the matter is, the average American doesn't even know as much as people on ATOT whether you are for this war or against it, i've seen convincing arguments on both sides. But the average person on the street in this country is uneducated and an idiot, and only knows (at most) what CNN feeds him/her.
