Assuming your receiver is not a network receiver. You can:

1. transfer MP3's to your mp3 player then connect the player to receiver, or
2. burn MP3's to a CD then play on a DVD player (most DVD players nowadays support MP3 play), or
3. Connect receiver directly to the "audio out" jack on your PC.

Dont know about xbox.
 
get like a Dlink Media player, its wireless and you can stream videos, music and pictures over. If Xbox Media Player can access files on a network computer get a Wireless Game Adapter.
