i had a problem with my asus a7v8x. it happened after i upgraded my bios. maybe try the different bioses. like, if you have an old one, upgrade. if you have a newer, downgrade

Everyones intitled to a mistake.xizit,Microsft just released a patch that fixes USB issues yesterday.You can read about and get it here. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822603 This is a good deal if your USB is malfunctioning and it's free.

If the patch mentioned above doesn't work then try going to Start=>Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager locating the device and deletabing. Reboot, plug in the device and see if PNP finds it.

Remove device, reinstall driver. Format hard drive, reinstall everything. Buy a FAR PCI USB card, install it, and fuhgedabowdit.
