I would go. Eustis is boring as hell!

lol, true...you live around me?
I live in Gainesville...but pass through on the way to Orlando sometimes. I also knew someone who lived there. Seems like a retirement community, with the main attractions being Wal-Mart and some flea market.

Scaramento... middle of nowhere.... at least you'll be used to the horrid heat...

its worse than fl?! i thought it might be a little cooler...i mean its almost the end of november and we are still hitting almost 80 everyday 🙁

the only way u can survive on $15/hr is if rent is paid.

i can't tell from your post if he's paying up front cost of housing or continued rent.

Well its horrible in the summer, and pours in the Winter. When I say middle of nowhere, I really mean middle of nowhere. But few hours west you have the Bay, and a few hours east you have Tahoe/Reno. And maybe you'll catch a glimpse of Arnie.

yup im in melbourne east of orlando and thats a good description of our town

I used to have a friend in Umatilla, and I grew up in Winter Haven. So I know your area.

The biggest issue is going to be the difference in the cost of living. I'd make sure and discuss that with the boss.

What a coincidence! I'm in Sacramento, living in a 1bdrm apt, making about $16/hr in a gov't job. Rent is about $735 (near Sac State) in a gated apt. Where will the store be?

roomies?

Some points:

Yes, it gets hot during the summer, but not humid. I'll take 105 degrees in Sac vs. 85 degrees in Georgia any day. (never been to FL, but I've heard it's very humid)
Stay away from the Florin Rd. area, unless you wish to be around economically underpriviledged african-american people.
Sacramento is only a couple of hours away from Lake Tahoe and skiing! 😀

I've a great aunt in Eustis and was just in that area a few months ago (Tavares).

I'd go to Sacramento in a heartbeat. Northern California...Yosemite...you got an NBA team out there still (the Kings).

You're young...go for it!

hes got an nba team in orlando too... they just suck

wow, at 18? did you graduate high school? plan on going to college?

I guess my mentality would be if I was 18, graduated from high school, and someone offered me this opportunity would be to go for it, work for a year so you can be considered an instate resident (as long as you sign some type of lease), then go to college somewhere out there. After that though, I'd probably get homesick though and move back East (family is important to me) but to spend 5 years out in Cali I think would be a blast and a great experience.

hehehe...it's not that bad...just avoid it between 10am-9pm (traffic)

Go to Cali. I would go in a sec. And you can say you've seent he world. PLUS everything is paid for. You can't go wrong at all. If you don't go. Let me know and I'll be on that plane stat.

Tell your boss I'm the last tech he'll ever need. 🙂
