I needed to mount an ISO so i used Daemon Tools (mistake since it took over Firefox), but now all my Securom games will not play. Who are they to tell me what software i can and can not have on my machine. I paid for these games, but i get abused because i needed to mount an ISO? Anyway, is there mounting software that wont cause Securom to throw a fit?

What? Are you suggesting i buy games with no DRM? Do they exist?

Yes, of course they exist. Ars just ran an article on the Humble Bundle which was a bundle of DRM-free, indie games that you could buy for whatever you wanted to give. But to actually accomplish anything you'll have to stop buying games with DRM too.

So how about suggestions for SW to mount an ISO that wont make Sercurom cry?

I don't know that one exists, isn't that the whole point of SecureROM? It might be simpler for you to just find no-cd cracks for the games, provided they're not online games that verify the binary's checksum or something.

you can try adding Y.A.S.U. (Yet Another SecuROM Utility) to Daemon Tools. it's an addon that cloaks the virtual drive from SecuROM.

might not work with the newest version of daemon tools though.

I run Alcohol 52%, I've never had an issue with SecuROM-based titles.

Though I couldn't even tell you the last time I've had a CD/DVD required to play any title that I have either.

Yup. And game distribution companies will keep insisting on them because people like you keep buying them.

They will just cry piracy and discontinue PC development and focus on consoles even more.

OP Checkout Alcohol 52% Free Edition

They've been crying piracy since the first PC game was released and yet they still develop and sell PC games. If they were going to kill their PC ports they would've done it a long time ago.

Wont install, im running Win7 x64 Pro. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Edit: A few other things. YASU is not liked by Securom--securom calls it by name even. I havent tried 52%, i will give that a shot and let you know.

@SunnyD, i havent had many actual discs in a while either, this is a Steam install that when launched from Steam throws a Securom error. Given how many things i have tried im sure they have had time to do a full system scan of my system...ugh, i HATE DRM.

Edit 2: @Ryland, i did try that one too. Thanks.
