Hi guys,

My present mouse has gone bad and I'm looking forward to buying a new one, i need reccomendations for a good one...

My requirments:

- 5 or more buttons( with back, forward and clickable wheel button)
- Tilt Wheel
- Gaming Grade (>1200 dpi)
- Right Handed or both hands design
- Would prefer wireless but will not mind going for wired too
- I love big mouse, don't want a tiny/notebook mouse
- Optical or Laser(actually confused b/w the two, is laser actually better ??)
- Budget $30-$40

I need it for both, doing work and gaming...

Searching the net, i've found Microsoft Wireless Laser 5000 and Microsoft laser 6000 satifies all these requirements....please tell me are they good mouse, 'cause i don't have a very good experience with microsoft mice that i had earlier...and also which one is better
And please tell me other mouse which satisfy all these requirements....especially Logitech ones...

Regards,

Microsoft Wireless Laser 5000 = 5 buttons.

MX100 is like 63 dollars. I recommend the Logitech MX518 931352-0403 2-Tone 8 Buttons 1x Wheel USB + PS/2 Optical Mouse - Retail which is 39 + shipping.

^^mx1000 its available for around 49 dollars on eBay....mx518 dosen't have a tilt wheel..
i don't care for extra buttons btw....5 are enough for me

The only thing MS 5000 mouse is about $15 cheaper, so i want to know is it worth it value wise compared to mx1000

Okay Guys, I've bought the MX1000 mouse.....I have few questions about this mouse..

1. Is it required to switch off the mouse from the base when not in use..b'coz i think the mouse switches off automatically in about 15-20 secs when not in use..

2.I've can't use tilt wheel(side-to-side scrolling) in some applications, i've already installed the s/w that came with it. Thing is, it works in some applications like Internet Explorer, notepad, etc but not in others like Opera..

don't know why the side scrolling won't work in Opera, but just click the wheel and move the pointer to the direction you want to scroll.
