Alright, I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm having some major problems with my MX518. Plain and simple the scroll wheel has a mind of its own. It constantly scrolls up and down, (mostly down, up sometimes) for no reason at all. Is there anyway I can disable the mouse wheel within Windows or some other software that I can use? Writing this here is a major pain, forget about gaming.... my weapons constantly switch on there own because of the scroll wheel. Any help is much appreciated.

EDIT: I forgot to say i thought maybe it was a USB port problem, but i tried another port. didn't help.

I don't know how you could live without a wheel, but I think this is how to disable it in xp sp2: device manager/ ps2 compatible mouse/ properties/ advanced settings tab/... there should be a drop down menu labeled "Wheel Detection." Set that to "Detection Disabled."

Good luck fixing your mouse.

just because you don't have the receipt doesn't mean they won't honor it Logitech has been known to have very good customer support I've heard of people calling in and getting better keyboards/mice even without sending in there broken ones.

That really is amazing customer support. I own a few logitech products that might be close to their end, so I'm definitely going to investigate their rma process further. Thanks for the tip.
