I don't know if anyone of you had encountered this problem. I bought a Logitech Wheel Mouse Special Edition Optical. My XP was able to recognise the mouse as soon as I plug it in the USB port. But I noticed that the pointer often jumps to the corner of the screen. Like for example the mouse is just sitting on the mouse pad (idle). When I move the mouse, it goes immediately to one corner. Also it happens often when I am move the pointer, suddenly it teleports to one of the screen corner. I have to look for the pointer and move the mouse here and there to find it. It's really annoying. Specially when you are on Games and want to use the mouse, it just jumps quickly to one corner. Has anyone had this problem and how to solve it? I 've installed the software taht came with it but no luck.

I had this problem with a laptop and docking station...If I installed Win98se with the docking station attached, the mouse would get quirky on me about halfway thru the install... Try updating the drivers.

Had same problem w. Logitech optical mouse when I used it without drivers (just letting XP detect it). After installing latest Logitech drivers from web, the problem disappeared. Give it a try!

Thanks to you all. I got the problem sorted out. It's not related to the drivers but it's my mousepad. My mousepad is one of those fancy mousepads that is being given away during computer fairs. It has different colors on it and my mousewheel doesn't seem to like it. I replaced my mousepad with plain white paper and the jumping to the corner or transporting to the fours corners of my screen disappeared. Thanks for all your views guys.
