Are you running ping just to create a 2 second delay? If so, you might as well use the timeout command. E.g.

Code:
devcon disable "USB\VID_04B4&PID_0033"
timeout 2 > nul
devcon enable "USB\VID_04B4&PID_0033"

"timeout" isnt recognized on my system (XP SP3)

Let me just fix that for you....

Another option is to try a USB hub.

If it were me, I'd get a new mouse... can't stand the Boomslang. ;)

As mentioned already I tried the USB hub in my monitor and it didn't fix the issue.

As for a new mouse I tried a few and they were either not as accurate or build quality looks like it would last a max of 1-2 years. The Boomslang CE has a great sensor and if it works for your hand it's a nice mouse.

At this point I have pretty much given up and will just see what happens with next gen Intel when I upgrade if the issue is resolved.

My mobo (Asrock) just pushed a firmware update with a USB compatibility patch. I'm going to test it out and see what it does.

It's possible Intel is fixing this with some microcode magic.
