Update: we found a way
The left hand mouse is made by Contour, and it has it's own settings in the mouse section of the Control Panel. The right-hand mouse it a typical MS Optical mouse, and it has default settings, and the left-hand Contour mouse has it's button settings. They both retain their settings, to the problem is solved. Now I just need to get used to left hand mousing.
The company I work for is on an 'ergonomic kick' and they want me to switch to a left handed mouse for 50% of my work. I don't have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with button assignments. On my normal, right handed, mouse the left button is for click, and the right button is for right-click. On the left hand button, I want the right button to be click, and the left button to be double-click. The exact oposite of each other. The problem is that what ever changes I make to one mouse effects both. I can't find a way to map the buttons different on each mouse. Can anybody help?
