I just bought the the logitech optical mouseman and it came with logitech mouse driver. Do I really need to install this driver. I mean the mouse works fine without installing the driver. I am just curious if with the logitech driver install, would it perform better (faster performing for quake3?). I not so sure what's the different if I install the logitech driver. Can someone verify this?
 
What the driver gets you is control over your mouse. You have the options of selecting the speed, acceleration, snap to, screen wrap, etc. Are you connecting it via USB or PS/2? If it's PS/2 get the PS2Plus mouse rate controller utility to improve the response.
