The only remaining issue is the mouse. See the last post by me on 6-14-04
--------------------

please don't tell me not to use standby. I like the idea of having all these fans and things quiet when I'm not using the PC.

This is the config.
Epox 8rda+
FX5200 latest nvidia driver (56.72)
ACPI and S3 enabled in BIOS
enabled mouse to bring it out of strandby
clean reinstall and updates on winxp pro after setting BIOS
no network drives

sometimes when I go into standby either manually or by the power options timer setting it starts back up beautifully. sometimes, I get no video. I can't figure out the pattern. haven't worked with hibernate after the reinstall, but before I did the reintsall, it was working fine.

does anyone have any ideas?

No. You will not have to reinstall Windows.

The best place to start when troubleshooting uncommon issues
is the Manufacturer of the component's website if available.

so far I've flashed the BIOS and reinstalled winxp pro twice. I've installed the latest nvidia (mobo) and video card drivers too. I guess standby will be what it is.

The last remaining issue is the USB mouse. I've enabled in the BIOS (before installing win) USB devices to bring it out of s3/S4. But I still can't get the power mamanement tab for the mouse so I can use it to bring it out of standby. I know it can, because 2 and 3 win installations ago it did have it, and it was automatic. I didn't do anything special to get it there.
I tried with and without the logitech software. I tried with it showing in device manager as HID mouse, HID device and Logitech USB Mouse.

Logitech tech support was no help.

My usbd.sys file is from 8/2001. Anyone got any ideas?
