Anyone know why this is? It hasn't happened before, and I just restarted after installing SP2. It is a USB mouse, made by kensington (got it free) but it never did that before. Could it be SP2 or something with my USB port?

No, don't say that. Ugh, but how could it be, I mean if it just started after I installed SP2? That to me means that it's something to do with SP2, I'm hopeing atleast. I'm going to run my AV though just to check.

I had this happen, and suspected a trojan myself.

On a theory, I installed on a separate machine on an isolated network.

Still did it.

Edit - By "wandering" I mean it would suddenly jump to the lower-right corner of the screen. Wouldn't move there - just jump there.

Mine, if left alone for just seconds starts heading across the screen. Each time it does it, it goes in a different direction. it doesn't jump, just starts treckin right wherever the heck it wants. Sometimes it does that and other times i can leave it alone for mins and nothing. if it does this during gaming I'm ditching SP2.

EDIT: Scanning comp with housecall right now.

That sounds like a fvcked up optical mouse. I've had that happen lots.

Krypto: are there any mouse drivers you can un/reinstall?

I didn't have to install any drivers, i just plugged the mouse in. Under device manager it just says HID compliant mouse (under mice). I ran the housecall scan, came back neg. i just unplugged and plugged the mouse back in. I am going to restart again because I installed some stuff. We'll see if that does it.

Wouldn't surprise me if the mouse was somehow fushkered, it's one of those cheapy ones. But it was free :p

Probably not worth the hassle of keeping it though....
