Mouse pads...?

Anyone know where you can buy the Razer Exactmat from? The Razer site sells it with a wrist pad for $33 USD. Seemed high. I thought you could get this for roughly $20 USD.

On a side note, anyone use the Xray Thunder 8 pad? It's been getting good reviews.

I bought a RatPadz and it was good for the first several weeks. One day, I decided to try my old cloth one that you can buy at Best Buy for like $5 and I found that I could aim a lot better in a Half-Life mod. I threw that away and I am back on the good 'ol cloth.

I just purchased a X-Ray Thunder 9 (rough) and we'll see how it goes. I have to admit, I'm a little leary and wonder if I'll return to the cloth as you mentioned.

Problem is that none of the stores in my area have these types of pads on hand so you can compare then in person and get an idea. Lacking that, I have to start somewhere and unfortunately it's going to cost me roughly $25 to figure out if I like the harder surface.

I guess I've pissed away more money on worse purchases......

i just ordered a func 1030 for the heck of it (i had the money to waste at that moment). once it gets here ill see how it goes with my mx1000 + mouse skates

Best Buy sells them, not cheap though. My Exactmat (the one without the wrist pad) was 30 bucks. After 1 night with it I have zero regrets about spending 30 on a pad. It works better then I expected, and it gets tons of use so $30 is resonable.

I have owned a steelpad, and it was good.

but i got tired of the sweat accumulation on it.

I switched to the Thunder 8 on the recommendation that it was better than a func.

I absolutely love it. No more metal/hard/ice pads for me.

All personal preference. Func 1030 is good (rough and smooth surface). Supermats are nice. Get any mousepad you want, but please for the love of God, DO NOT GET AN MX1000!!

I was in BB today and decide to actually get a mousepad in preparation for my Diamondback in the mail, I would use my wooden tabletop but its just too worn and scratched up now. I got an Allsop Gaming Pad or something for like 10 bucks, its pretty cool looking (silver and black) nice solid surface and the foam bottom keeps it nice and still.

I've got the eXact Mat and it is simply amazing!

Everything seems so slow without it!

I use an MX1000 with it .. so the combination ROCKS!

looks interesting. but i dont htink i can spend 30 bucks for a pad. the func was a special case... since it was the exact amount left in my paypal. anyway, its at home now and once im done with work i can mess around with it.

i have a func 1030. it's really really nice, and i do believe it helps (a bit) in my gaming (as compared to a POS dell mousepad or some free cloth one)

... wow. i just got my func 1030 and i have to say i actually prefer my 2 dollar aci (fry's) black mousepad to it. I'm currently using the func as a placemat for the cloth pad. i'll have to see the difference in gaming before i decide :b... either way its good enough to call a 20 dollar mouse pad but i've lived on cloth so long its just become a preference now.

edit: i just decided to spend 10 minutes straight on the func... then went back to the cloth. It almost feels like the cloth pad is actually stopping the mouse from moving where as on the func i myself have to stop it. anyway in the end  to func.

it has two surfaces .. a smooth one for fast gameplaying and a rougher one for more precision...

it is great!

I have a question for any Exactmat owner. Do the rubber pads in each corner look or feel like they could end up coming loose over time?

Just a quick update. My Thunder 9 (rough) arrived and there are a few positives and negatives:
1. The size is awesome. No chance of running off the edge.
2. Looks pretty cool in my opinion. Minimalist and all.
3. Not sure I'm a rough surface type of gamer. Kinda wishing I had sacrificed the size and gotten the Thunder 8 w/the two sides; rough and smooth.

I've used a $10 bubble design Allsop for a while and it's got a smooth surface. Now, using the T9 rough, it kinda feels like I'm back to cloth.

Overall, I like the T9, but I would love to try the smooth version out also. Don't really want to go thru the hassel of returning it to NewEgg though......
