Mouse Locking up on WINME!!! Please help!

This problem started happening a few weeks ago. I freshly installed ME on my system and now the mouse freezes after running ME for like 10 minutes. After freezing, I am forced to reboot but that also gives a problem. When I shut off the PC after the lockup, I am not able to turn it on for like 5 minutes. The button on the case simply does not turn on the computer. The weirdest part of all is that before I had WIN2K installed on the same machine and the same problem was happening to the keyboard. Now the keyboard is just fine but the mouse is causing problems. Any suggestions as to why? The specs for the PC are posted below. Thanks. Also when WIN2K was installed, I tried to solve the problem of the keyboard by dropping the CPU to its original clock speed but that didnt help. I have yet to try that method with this mouse problem.

winme lost my logitech drivers when i first loaded it over win98
i just reloaded them . if you have a oem logitech mouse load the
regular drivers from their site. i did this with my sister's
computer.

I had the same problem with my logitec mouse when I upgraded from 98 to ME. Logitec reconized the problem and created mouseware for ME.. goto their site and download the ME version of mouseware, that should fix it

You think this will work even though my mouse is an HP which I assumed was a Logitech OEM since it looks identical to the Logitech First Wheel Mouse. Does anyone know for sure what mouse comes with the HP Kayak Systems? I have one of those. Thanks. I was thinking that this may be a problem of the mobo. Any feedback on that?
