when compared to mouse movement on my old P1100 CRT, it seems very laggy. not unbearable, but enough to be constantly annoying. powering this monster with an x800 pro, could that be the problem? seems like it should be able to render 2D fine.. any ideas?

edit: mouse is an mx510

try moving windows, does it go realllllllly slow? then its ur video card

if u just need to mvoe ur mouse a whole damn lot to get from one side to the other its cuz ur mouse sensitivity needs to be increased, it needs more sensitivity when going up to higher resolutions because theres more screen to move across

i had to do that when i went from 1024x768 CRT to my 1280x1024 LCD

newer mice have much improved options for higher dpi movemtn

window movement isn't laggy, and sensitivity doesn't get rid of the lag effect. just makes it move faster :p

edit i have a MX500 so we hsould be getting similar mouse performance :D urs being beter

didn't the 2405 test for quite a bit of input lag?

I guess that's the problem then ElFenix :( Oh well, it's still a great screen. Guess I'll have to live with it.

Some people are more accute to this phenomina and Dell 2405 brings those users out. You can try a couple things, work arounds, before deciding it goes back. 1) make sure refresh is 60hz 2) in video card settings set render ahead to 0, you may need a tweak tool like ATi tool or nvtweaker 3) if that does'nt help turn off vsnyc with 1 and 2.

This isn't mouse lag it is display lag. If you have your CRT hooked up as well, straddle a window across both screens and move it up and down.

The LCD window will lag the CRT window.

It lags, it is a fact. Some people don't notice, some do.

Stick with it and you will probably get used to it in a few days if you dont' keep switching back to CRT.

Yes theres been more than a few tests on various forums ,this panel definately suffers from input lag.

someone over at hard forums had a solution that has solved this problem for me =]

display settings -> advanced -> troubleshoot -> lower "hardware acceleration" by one step

I'm reviving this thread because I do notice this too, you aren't lying. It's a problem that resides in the monitor itself, not the drivers or cable or anything else. Very few LCDs don't have this problem, and I'm looking around for ones that don't have input lag (obviously). And actually I didn't see this lag until I switched to an old 17" crt and I noticed the mouse was moving faster or something, then I realized what had been happening: the cursor was updating its position on time with my actual hand movements, instead of lagging 20+ ms behind with my LCD.

If anyone (who can point out input lag if they see it) knows of any LCD panels that don't have input lag, tell me, I want to know which ones don't.

It seems to be more common with large LCDs. I think all the ones reported to have the problem are the 23/24" type and I haven't heard of any complaints with the smaller ones. I can't see any significant input lag on my 19" 90GX2 as long as I have the refresh rate as 75hz.

I don't notice any lag on my 2405fpw. It seemed slower when I first got it but after I adjusted the mouse speed to cover the length of the screen in the same amount of time as my smaller monitor, it cleared up any percieved slowness.

no its not that's its slower, its that the display doesn't render your mouse movements in real time
