Mouse jump

Every since optical mice came about I have had issues with occasional mouse jump. My pointer will just jump several inches. I've never been able to find a fix. It does it with or without a mouse pad. I'm wondering if anyone has solved this problem. I have mouse acceleration disabled. It was doing it way back in the first days of Windows XP and it still does it in windows 7.

Do you have any bright lights in the room or sunlight , or other sources of light like from UV lights or IR ? Those can make the mouse sensor go a bit crazy sometimes.

If this is an "inexpensive" optical mouse it will likely do the mouse jump because it was not designed for quick movements.

try to hold your mouse with your hand fully and cover its light. do not let them spread outside your palm.
Might sound funny but i handle it this way 😀

In my experience that's due to lint in the sensor. I get weird behavior about once a month. I simply blow hard on the sensor and good for another month. Easy. 🙂
