Mouse issues

I got a IE mouse 4button+wheel. And it randomly shuts off. Like power gets cut off by the usb controller or something. Any other ideas? Oh yeah I'm using an Abit kt7a board.

 
Is your mouse plugged directly into a USB port on the comp or through a keyboard "hub" port? I had that problem when I had my mouse plugged into my MS Elite keyboard (had a 2 port hub in it - unpowered) the problem went away when I plugged the mouse into the mainboard ports.
