How comes no one else suggested lacing the PB with poison?

NEVER USE POISON IN A HOME OR BUSINESS!

Now, you may ask why? Has Amused become a PETA member? Has Amused become an environut?

No.

If you poison a mouse, it will not die right away. It will crawl into a safe, dark, hidden place and die. And you'll spend weeks trying to find the smell.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

Don't get one of those electronic zappers thingys. I got one and all it did was made the mouse piss on the counter top.

We had few mice in the house and I got one of those.

Rat Zapper or something.
Killed them instantly

I found that a dried cherry worked quite well, and the same cherry stayed in the trap for several months, providing at least 7 kills. Damn critters found a wall that they'd nest in. No more. It's been repaired and sealed off now.

Anyway, the cherry - good thing about it is that it's tough, so the mouse can't just casually lick at it and possibly get away. It is tough, so the mouse has to get right on it and work to try to remove it. SNAP, perfect kill.
Also, I saw on Dirty Jobs that rats and probably mice like to run along walls. So put the trap near a wall, and they'll be more likely to partake of the delicacy in their path.
