Mouse hangs unexplainable?

Hey all,

I recently purchased a northwood 1.6a with an Asus P4S333 mobo, ever since installing windows every so often when I launch IE my mouse will hang for like a second. Not all the time either, maybe once or twice in ten tries.
Anyone have any ideas on how I could diagnose this? Or what it might be?

It hangs for like a second, but it is noticable. Not really a big deal, just kind of annoying. I hope it is not a memory problem. It is a logitech ball/wheel mouse. It hangs in both xp and win 2000.

Plugging into the usb port rather then the ps2 port does not make a difference. It's wierd, and I have no idea on how to diagnose it. Like I said, its not a huge problem, but really annoying.

Sorry I don't have an answer I have a me too and wanted to bump the thread. I am running a 566 celeron at 850 and when I sometimes start something the mouse freezes for a second. It seems to do it more often on file sharing software but will also do it opening IE etc. I opened the task manager and it seems to correlate with the CPU working at 100%. I don't understand why it hangs this system (win2K) other systems I have worked on do not behave this way. Like you said it is just annoying really. Thanks in advance if someone can help out.
