Mouse DPI question?

I have had my copperhead for a couple days now and its extremely precise, it feels like a huge jump even from my diamondback plasma. However i was thinking, i barely move my mouse 1cm on full sensitivity in the razer drivers and the pointer glides across my 19" lcd fully. I dont like it that way so i want to turn it down, especially for gaming i like to use most of my pad. So if i were to turn the sensitivity down would it still be utilizing its 1600dpi? Does dpi not have to do with sensitivity but with accuracy?

I ran into the same situation with my G5.

I only keep it at 2000dpi. I turn all the software based sensitivy way down.

It works great and is much more precise (to me at least) to have the max dpi on the mouse for everything.

I'll crank it down for photoshop.
