Well... it started when i installed Civ 4 but it continues (even after i've uninstalled the game)... so I checked and apparently for some people, it worked fine after they uninstalled the new drivers...
personally, for me its not a big problem since it happened only once in the two weeks i've uninstalled Civ 4 (with the computer on 24/7). but I just thought i'd point this out about the drivers... and also, ask if anyone knows a way to reboot that without rebooting the computer.
so everyone knows i have the 81.85 drivers...
