Mouse cursor freezes but mouse still works?!

I have a unique problem! I just built a new rig... specs are these

Abit AV8 3rd Eye Mobo
AMD A64 Newcastle 3500+ CPU
Kingston HyperX PC3200 DDR RAM
PNY Geforce 6800 GT 256MB
Logitech MX1000 Wireless Laser Mouse
Microsoft Desktop Elite Wirless Keyboard

The problem is that sometimes (so far has only happened in game (World of Warcraft), and only happened when using the MX1000 mouse, but the system is so new it could have just not surfaced yet) my mouse icon will stay in place, basically not following where it should be. It will change icon based on where I move the mouse, like if I move my mouse such that it is over the edge of a window the frozen cursor will change to the resize arrows. If I move the mouse over say the start menu, it will highlight, but the icon for the mouse is not tracking it. The only way I can fix it is to restart! I exit the game, no luck 🙁 I have the newest video drivers and windows updates (no SP2, heard there are problems with A64 chip), and newest mouse drivers. What could be the problem? Is this common?

You obviously haven't used the MX1000. I like my mouse, I want it to work. No one else has a problem, even using the same game. What gives.

I meant try another mouse to see if it works. It may be that your mouse is defective or it maybe another hardware problem. You'll never know till you try another mouse.

I was originally using a wireless optical mouse that came with my keyboard. I did not notice this problem at all with it, but I only used it for a day. I have only used the laser mouse for a day now and it has done it maybe 3 times. I can't figure out what causes it, it seems random, and it is almost rare now, but equally annoying each time it happens 🙁
