My mouse keeps causing batteries to leak for some weird reason. They are facing the right way and the contacts are clean. I've tried generic batteries, energizers and duracell.
Anybody?
Anybody?

Right away, it starts hissing and making noise and then I open the battery compartment and it has some of the goop leaking out.
The mouse still works fine btw.

Last time I checked the mods do a pretty decent job on their own without needing civilian intervention.
Good thing we have snide little bitches who justify their post counts by pretending it's their job, too.

Maybe. I seem incredibly easy to agitate today.

Yup, tells you right on the package in the Warnings section - Do Not Use in combo with Discharged batteries or other brands. Sometimes those Warnings are useful to read... Rechargeable batteries (NiMH) aren't the best for mice as they self-discharge relatively rapidly - they are best for short-term, high demand applications like in digicams with frequent flash use, where you use up the energy quickly and recharge. Mice are relatively low-drain over long periods applications where Alkalines are generally best - just when they need changing, use new, same brand cells. I usually get at least a year out of a pair of name brand Alkaline AA cells in my cordless keyboard.
One day I'll get some top-brand NiMH for my digicam - thus far I've used some no-name, Chinese NiMH and they aren't worth a chunk of used food...
